L4DEL explanations are a separate layer. They do not change the Lean source. Intuition is explanatory prose; numbered items are a reading path; sources link the wording back to evidence.

    L4DEL explanation

The Erdős–Gallai cycle-decomposition conjecture asks for a linear bound on the number of cycles and single edges needed to partition a graph's edges. The formalized result gives one absolute constant $C>0$ such that every finite simple graph on $n$ vertices has an edge-disjoint decomposition into at most $Cn$ cycles or singleton edges. Edgeless and small graphs are included. The optimal value of $C$ is not determined.

    1. This is an exact comparator target linked by the pinned repository's formalization note for this result.
    2. The repository's comparator configuration selects OAI.Combinatorics.CycleDecomposition.Main as the released solution module checked against this declaration.
