Explanation legend Lean4 Domain Explanation Language (L4DEL)

L4DEL explanations are a separate layer. They do not change the Lean source. Intuition is explanatory prose; numbered items are a reading path; sources link the wording back to evidence.

Catalan-Larcombe-French sequence

The Catalan-Larcombe-French sequence defined by $a(0)=1$, $a(1)=8$, and $$n^2 a(n) = 8(3n^2 - 3n + 1) a(n-1) - 128(n-1)^2 a(n-2)$$ for $n \ge 2$.

    Conjecture: let $P(n)$ be the $(n+1) \times (n+1)$ Hankel-type determinant with $(i,j)$-entry equal to $a(i+j)$ for all $i,j = 0, \ldots, n$. Then $P(n)/2^{n(n+3)}$ is a positive odd integer.

    Proved by [ZS18], Theorem 1.2: $2^{-n(n+3)} |P_{i+j}|_{0 \le i,j \le n}$ is a positive odd integer for every $n \in \mathbb{N}$, where $P_n$ are the Catalan-Larcombe-French numbers.
