L4DEL explanations are a separate layer. They do not change the Lean source. Intuition is explanatory prose; numbered items are a reading path; sources link the wording back to evidence.

L4DEL explanation
Catalan’s constant is irrational.
the equivalent of Apéry's theorem “ζ(3) ∉ Q” for Catalan's constant has not yet been proved
Catalan's constant is the alternating reciprocal-square sum G = Σ(j ≥ 0) (-1)^j/(2j+1)^2, equivalently the Dirichlet beta value β(2). This declaration says that no rational number equals that real series.
Lean's Irrational predicate means there is no rational r whose coercion to the reals equals the infinite sum.
The displayed summand alternates sign with j and divides by the square of the odd integer 2j+1, so the target is the standard Catalan constant rather than the unrelated Catalan numbers.
The challenge file itself ends in sorry; its comparator configuration selects OAI.NumberTheory.Catalan.Main as the separate released solution module checked against this exact statement.
