L4DEL explanations are a separate layer. They do not change the Lean source. Intuition is explanatory prose; numbered items are a reading path; sources link the wording back to evidence.

    Source documentation

In every dimension at least four, a polynomial can define affine space without being a coordinate of the ambient polynomial ring.

    L4DEL explanation

a noncoordinate polynomial in four complex variables whose zero fibre is affine three-space

we show that by an automorphism of the affine 3-space, it can be transformed to a coordinate plane

In every complex ambient dimension at least four, there is a polynomial whose zero fibre is affine space of one lower dimension even though no polynomial change of coordinates turns that polynomial into a coordinate variable.

    1. The input is a natural number n with 4 ≤ n. The conclusion chooses a polynomial F in the n-variable complex polynomial ring.
    2. The first conjunct supplies a complex-algebra equivalence from the quotient by the principal ideal generated by F to a polynomial ring in n-1 variables. Algebraically, the hypersurface cut out by F has the coordinate ring of affine (n-1)-space.
    3. The second conjunct rules out every complex-algebra automorphism of the ambient polynomial ring and every coordinate index whose coordinate variable is sent to F. Thus the quotient looks standard while the embedding is not rectifiable by an ambient polynomial automorphism.
    4. The statement starts at dimension four and does not claim a three-variable counterexample, classify all fibres, or expose the manuscript's explicit formula. The comparator body is sorry, paired with OAI.AlgebraicGeometry.AbhyankarSathaye.Counterexample.
